Practice Description and Experience
James focuses his practice on international tax and wealth management. He previously practiced with an international law firm in Palo Alto and Zurich and also worked as a wealth planner at the in-house trust company of a Swiss private bank in Zurich.
James is very knowledgeable on wealth structuring issues affecting international families, particularly with respect to mixed US and non-US ownership of non-US family businesses and offshore trusts with current or future US beneficiaries.
James is very experienced in compliance and enforcement issues regarding offshore assets. He has submitted a large number of voluntary disclosures to the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and has worked on high-profile DOJ and IRS criminal investigation matters.
James' clients have included public figures, C-Suite executives, founders, bankers, athletes, and artists. James has also advised large family offices and corporate clients.
