Practice Description and Experience
Harold focuses his practice on cross-border private wealth clients and family offices, their operating entities, holding structures, trusts and fiduciary relationships. Harold advises clients on international tax planning, multi-jurisdictional investments, including US businesses and real estate, as well as US tax compliance and remediation of non-compliance. He has considerable expertise in multi-jurisdictional wealth, estate and succession planning, including: design, use and governance of trusts and similar fiduciary relationships, establishing and operating private trust companies and similar entities, as well as planning for gifts and inheritances from non-US persons to US persons, for foreign trusts having US beneficiaries and for immigrating to the US.
Harold has many years of private wealth experience and has worked in law firms, an established financial service company and as senior trust counsel of a national trust bank operating in 14 US states. He also founded a boutique trust company / multi-family office with clients in North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, where he served as president, chief fiduciary officer and trust counsel.
